Living with cystic fibrosis (CF) means your health and wellbeing is always top of mind. That’s especially true now with the global COVID-19 outbreak. If you have questions or concerns (that’s totally normal!) talk to your CF Care Team. Below are a few tips to keep in mind as you navigate the lifestyle changes this virus is causing.
- Check in with yourself. Your mental health is just as important as your physical health, and maintaining a healthy mindset is as important now as ever. Make time throughout the day to assess how you’re feeling. If you’re feeling anxious, try some relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing
- Shake off the cabin fever. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) still recommends getting outdoors, if you can, for some fresh air and exercise. Just make sure to stay at least 6 feet away from others. If you can’t get outside, there are plenty of online workout classes to get you moving right in your living room! Here are a few exercise ideas to help you get started
- Have a digital hang. You’re probably used to communicating this way with other CFers. But now with “social distancing”, it can be hard to figure out how to stay connected with friends and loved ones. Schedule time to have video chats. Start with a few people to get the hang of it. And don’t forget to make it fun!
